What We Do > Education

Our education programs enrich the lives of participants and encourage new support of the orchestra.

Adopt-A-Player: Volunteers assist the teacher and Toronto Symphony Orchestra musicians in the classroom as they work with students to create their own musical, artistic and written expression.

Morning with the TSO: Trained docents from the Committee present background information on the Orchestra, guest artists and music to be performed to music students who attend Toronto Symphony Orchestra rehearsals.

Preludes: Volunteers accompany Toronto Symphony Orchestra musicians to performances in Metro area schools.

Young People's Concerts: Volunteers decorate the lobby of Roy Thomson Hall and help staff Saturday afternoon concerts that are held at Roy Thomson Hall throughout the season.

Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra: We support the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra by recognizing their talents and contribution to the education of people with a luncheon when the TSYO are the featured performers in the Kids Klassics Series. A scholarship supports a young musician's participation in the orchestra. We encourage others to donate a scholarship.
