ADOPT-A-MUSICIAN: Pair volunteers with musicians from the orchestra to better understand their roles within the TSO family.
ARCHIVES: Keep records of activities.
BRIDGE, LUNCH & SPEAKER: Organize annual Bridge, Lunch and Speaker fundraising event.
COMMUNICATIONS: Produce In Tune, the TSVC quarterly newsletter (write, edit, photograph, mail).
EDUCATION: Facilitate music programs for children, including: Adopt-A-Player, Morning with the TSO, Preludes, Young People's Concerts, Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.
FINE WINE AUCTION: Plan and manage a major annual fall fundraiser, including acquisition of wines, catalogue creation, venue planning, inventory, marketing, public relations, accounting.
FLAGS AT THE PROMS: Sell flags at Last Night of the Proms, the final concerts in the TSO Pops Series.
HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE: Plan holiday event for TSVC members and TSO Board members, including invitations, decor, and refreshments.
INTERLUDES: Organize, for TSVC members only, a series of lectures with guest artists, composers, and conductors.
LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN: Organize and handwrite fundraising letters on behalf of TSO.
MARKETING / PUBLIC RELATIONS: Oversee and/or create, design and produce publicity for various projects as required.
MEETINGS & HOSPITALITY: Arrange location, food, decoration for General Meetings.
MEMBERSHIP: Recruit and interview new members.
ORCHESTRA LIAISON: Arrange and host three luncheons/year for the orchestra.
OUTDOOR LIVING TOUR: Plan a tour of Toronto area gardens in exclusive neighbourhoods for fundraising and TSO awareness.
PLACEMENT: Survey members to determine committee interest.
PIANO COMPETITION: Organize and manage the TSO National Piano Competition.
TELEPHONE COMMITTEE: Relay by phone, messages from the Board to members without email.
